Paul Reubens (bornPaul Rubenfeld)[2] (August 27,1952[1]July 30,2023[2]), was anAmerican actor, writer, and comedian, best known professionally for his character Pee-wee Herman.

As Pee-wee Herman, he appeared in the filmsPee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) andBig Top Pee-wee (1988), as well as the Saturday-morning television seriesPee-wee's Playhouse. In1986, he was the voice of Max, the robotic controller of an alien spacecraft in the children's science fiction filmFlight of the Navigator, for which he was credited as Paul Mall.

Biography[]

In1987, Reubens provided the voice forRX-24, theRX-Series pilot droid featured in theStar Tours ride at variousDisney theme parks. While the ride was still in operation, Reubens' voice could be heard as "Rex." Rex makes a minor appearance inStar Tours: The Adventures Continue, using archive audio.

He later reprised the role of RX-24 in theDisney XD animated seriesStar Wars Rebels, in the episode "Droids in Distress" and for Galaxy's Edge asDJ R-3X inOga's Cantina.

He passed away from cancer onJuly 30,2023.[2]
