ThehumanmaleMilo Graf tried to restore the archive with assistance from thedroidCR-8R before being betrayed and electrocuted by him. Forcenturies, Orchis 2 washome to theGraf family,[2] a powerful family ofhyperspaceprospectors during theHigh Republic Era.[4] TheGalactic Empire later took control of the moon and used theGraf Archive as alibrary foryears. When the Empire left Orchis 2, it damaged severaldatabanks and destroyed texts.[2] Between4 ABY and5 ABY,[5] thehumanmaleMilo Graf went to the moon along with thedroidCR-8R "Crater" to restore the archive. Milo contacted[2] his[6] sister,Lina Graf, and he asked her if she would come home soon, to which she replied that Orchis 2 was not their home.[2]

Milo stated he had not been aware the library still existed, to which his sister replied that none of their family had been aware of the fact. CR-8R and Milo then informed her about what the Empire had left behind, including diagrams ofFortress Vader, the castle of theDark Lord of the SithDarth Vader located on[2] theOuter Rim Territories planet[3]Mustafar. After Lina terminated the transmission session, Milo told CR-8R about adream he had had. After Milo finished relaying his dream, the droid electrocuted the boy, claiming to be following the orders of his Dark Lord.[2] CR-8R later transported the unconscious Milo to Mustafar.[7]

ThehistorianEloc Throno at one point studied cartography underDirectorAmel Fortoon on Orchis 2. Later,[8] in34 ABY,[9] Throno mentioned the moon in his travel guide,Traveler's Guide to Batuu.[8] The moon was also mentioned in anartist'sjournal that wasrestored, expanded, and displayed in the Graf Archive[10] at some point no earlier than 34ABY.[11] Long after 34 ABY, the archive covered most of the moon's surface, and Fortoon mentioned both Orchis 2 and the facility in the introduction to a collection of ancienthand-drawnmaps the archive had restored and collected.[3]
