• Wilhuff Tarkin is erroneously described as the "governor of theImperialOutland Regions" when incanon he was actually the governor ofEriadu and previously served in the Outland Regions Security Force, a paramilitary force that sought to protect Eriadu and theGreater Seswennasector, during theRepublic Era. The books seems to reference information fromStar Wars Legends, in which theOutland Regions were established as an area ofthe galaxy and Tarkin, as the overseer ofOversector Outer, was informally viewed as the governor of this region, rather than just Eriadu, the latter of which is the case in the current canon.
• Mon Mothma is described as "Supreme Commander" of theRebel Alliance, one of several alternative titles used in Legends in place of the much more commonChief of State.
• The book refers to theImperial soldiers fromStar Wars: The Old Republic and related media as "ancient Sith soldiers," associating them with theSith troopers of theSith Eternal for the first time. It says that "according to legend," the ancient Sith soldiers protected theSith Empire many years before the creation of theFirst Order.
