LEGO Star Wars returns in epic style with THE YODA CHRONICLES, a thrilling, funny and action-packed new LEGO Star Wars story told in three animated TV specials! Set in the "Prequel" Star Wars timeline, THE YODA CHRONICLES stars the one and only Yoda—theJedi Master who has seen it all, done it all, and taught generations ofJedi Knights—in an all-new adventure. With the help of a fresh class ofPadawans, Yoda leads theJedi in a desperate fight to stopDarth Sidious and his minions from creating a new super-weapon that could crush theRepublic and win the war for the forces of Evil.[2]
Development[]
Lucasfilm gave theLEGO group free rein to develop the storyline. The creative team worked to make sure everything looked consistently as if it were made with LEGO bricks and added humor to the story.[4]
Release and reception[]
The first three episodes were released onCartoon Network betweenMay 29 andNovember 27,2013. The remaining four episodes were released onDisney XD under the titleThe New Yoda Chronicles (without the LEGO logo, since Cartoon Network owned the broadcasting rights to the name LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles) betweenMay 4 andNovember 23,2014.
The first two episodes were released on DVD onSeptember 11,2013,[5] and the final four were released on DVD onSeptember 15,2015.[6] Several mini-movies have been released, which tie into the series proper: episodes 4-6 tie into "Escape from the Jedi Temple".[7] The third episode, "Attack of the Jedi," still lacked a DVD release as of January 2016.
The first three mini-movies were released with the first three television episodes. The latter eight mini-movies tie into the remaining four episodes.
TheNew Yoda Chronicles episodes are available on theDisney+ streaming service, which launched onNovember 12,2019.[8] Disney+ also has an alternate version of "Clash of the Skywalkers" with the title "Duel of the Skywalkers."
