Much of Irudiru was covered inthirstgrass,Ki-a-ki bushes, and other smallplants. Theworld was inhabited by animals, includingflies. Irudiru had a relatively small population compared to others inthe galaxy.[3]

In the finalyears of theGalactic Civil WarGolas Aram, aSiniteenarchitect who had designedprisons for theGalactic Empire,Kanjiklub, theJunihar Cartel, andSplugorra theHutt, lived on Irudiru.[3]
When a failed mission to liberateKashyyyk from the Empire's remnants resulted in the capture ofChewbacca,GeneralHan Solo of theNew Republic resignedhis commission to search for hiscopilot and friend. During the search, he lost contact with hiswifeLeia Organa, a central figure in theNew Republic Government.[3]
Organa requested the services ofNorra andTemmin Wexley, former ImperialSinjir Rath Velus,bounty hunterJas Emari, andJom Barell, to help find Chewbacca and Solo. Suspecting the former may be imprisoned by the Empire, the group found and interrogated Golas Aram athis compound, finding Solo in the process. The information they gathered led to the rescue of Chewbacca, manyWookiees, and many formerRebellion members.[3]
