TheHaxion Brood was a crime syndicate that operated throughout theOuter Rim, led by thecrime bossSorc Tormo. The syndicate's headquarters wasOrdo Eris, anasteroid stronghold that served as the center of the Haxion Brood's power structure. The Brood seemed to dominate thegambling and parts of thesmuggling sector of the underworld. The Haxion Brood consisted of a number ofcybernetically augmentedbounty hunters and their accompanyingreprogrammed bounty droids made from stolendroid parts.[1]

Undergoing this process of cybernetic augmentation was seen as a sign of commitment and loyalty within the Brood.[3] Haxion Brood's bounty hunters andcommandos were also equipped withrepulsors andA280C blaster rifles.[1]

History[]

A Haxion Brood commando

During or before18 BBY,[4] the Haxion Brood syndicate hired analien criminalSylar Saris toassassinate a number of top criminal bosses for them. Saris, who became known as the "Slayer ofOrdo Eris" (after the syndicate's headquartersspace station), got greedy and escaped with a cache ofcredits after performing the job, resulting in a bounty being placed on his head which was eventually claimed by thebounty hunterFennec Shand.[5]

In14 BBY,[6] the formerJediPadawanCal Kestis was kidnapped by a bounty hunter of the Haxion Brood, due tohis companionGreez Dritus' largegambling debt to the syndicate, and was locked up in a cell on Ordo Eris. After his escape he was forced tofight in theHaxion Fight Pit beforeSorc Tormo. Dritus rescued Kestis in hisstarship, theStinger Mantis, much to Tormo's anger. Following Kestis' escape from Ordo Eris, the Haxion Brood continued to send bounty hunters after him.[1]

In9 BBY,[7] Sorc Tormo sentKorej Lim after Kestis, but the bounty hunter was quickly dispatched by the Jedi Knight onKoboh. Watching the battle wasCaij Vanda, a former bounty hunter who made a proposition to Kestis: Vanda would use her underworld connections to locate the Haxion Brood's hunters, and Kestis would turn the tables on his pursuers, hunting them instead, and deliver theirbounty pucks to Vanda as proof.[2]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivor. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed ascanon.

Along Kestis's journey to reachTanalorr, he dispatched many more bounty hunters. Kestis would go onto face an allied force of Brood bounty hunters andBedlam Raiders forces working together under a droid namedJo. When Kestis bested Jo, he hoped she would be the last of the Brood he had to deal with. When at last he had defeated every hunter the Brood had sent after him, Kestis returned toPyloon's Saloon to find Vanda, only to find her missing, and a message telling him to meet her where their business relationship had begun. Kestis obliged, finding that the ex-bounty hunter was waiting for him.[2]

Vanda then betrayed Kestis, revealing herself to not be retired after all. Instead, she had manipulated Kestis into both killing all of her competition and raising his bounty high enough for her to consider bringing him in. The two then engaged in a duel that ended in Vanda's defeat. As Kestis gave Vanda one last chance to surrender,Boba Fett appeared, having come to collect a bounty on Vanda's head. After Vanda's failed attempt to bargain with them by using athermal detonator, Kestis allowed Vanda to be captured by Fett.[2]

Assumption ends here.

When the crime syndicateCrimson Dawn held anauction, aiming to sellHan Solo, a key member of theRebel Alliance and smuggler who had been imprisoned incarbonite, the Haxion Brood attended the event, as did other criminal organizations.[8]

Around9 ABY,[9] the Haxion Brood was working to spread its control further across theOuter Rim Territories.[10]
