Gate Control was an organization of theGalactic Empire responsible for controlling access through theShield Gate, the single entry port of the otherwise impenetrabledeflector shield around theplanetScarif. During theBattle of Scarif,Rogue One, led byJyn Erso, was allowed access passage through the gate by amember of Gate Control. Shortly after, aRebel Alliancefleet launched an assault on the Shield Gate, during which they destroyed thestation by hurling twoImperial Star Destroyers into it.[1]
