Frigates were a military class ofstarship measuring around 200-400meters in length,[1] and served various functions, such as combat, medical or supply purposes.[2] ThepirateQ'anah'sfleet included several frigates.[3] TheChiss Ascendancy utilizedChiss frigates.[4] During theClone Wars, both theGalactic Republic and theConfederacy of Independent Systems used frigates, with the former deployingRepublic frigates[5] andPelta-class frigates. The latter made use ofMunificent-class star frigates.[6] TheGalactic Empire also used frigates including theSalliche,[3] as did theAlliance to Restore the Republic who fielded the frigatePromise and theRedemption, aNebulon-B escort frigate which served as a medical ship.[7]
