Flexpoly bacta suits were a type of emergency medical suit filled with artificialbacta manufactured byZaltin Corp.[1] They consisted of transparent bacta circulation and filtration tubing and a retaining collar lined by statussensors with wireless telemetry.

Before3 ABY,[4] aQuarren sold fake bacta suits while onCorellia.[5]

When theResistance had toevacuate theirbase on theplanetD'Qar[3] in theyear34 ABY,[6] the injuredFirst Order deserterFinn was put into an expired flexpoly bacta suit while in a medical coma and transferred to a storage room-turned temporary medical suite onboard theMC85 Star CruiserRaddus.[2] He remained unconscious in the suit until after theResistance fleet had successfully exitedhyperspace after jumping tolightspeed, but then awoke and left his bed in search of thescavengerRey. As he moved through the corridors of theRaddus the expired bacta suit began leaking as it had become fragile. Eventually, theResistance pilotPoe Dameron spotted the confused and mostly naked Finn and found him a change ofclothes.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

A flexpoly bacta suit first appeared in the filmStar Wars: Episode VIIIThe Last Jedi,[3] which was released onDecember 15,2017.[7] The costume was not named in the film,[3] but received identification inStar Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book written byPablo Hidalgo[2] and released in conjunction with the film.[8]
