History[]

Daluuj
Early history[]
Daluuj was originally colonized byhumans[2] at some point after1000 BBY. By the time of theClone Wars, the planet was considered to be withinHutt Space.[3]
Rebellion era[]
AdmiralAckbarcrashed on the planet whileen route fromMon Calamari toYavin 4 around0 ABY.PrincessLeia Organa andHan Solo had just rescuedLuke Skywalker andC-3PO from his wrecked smuggling ship onHoth when they intercepted the distress signal sent out from the Admiral's transport.
Following the trail of the Admiral'sescape pod to Daluuj, theMillennium Falcon managed to enter the planet's storm-wracked atmosphere, narrowly missing the gun turret of anImperialfort in the process.Captain Solo set theFalcon down on what appeared at first to be an ordinary mud plain, only to find out too late that it was in fact a lake occupied by twogiant worms that quickly twined themselves about the stricken ship, dragging it to the bottom of the lake.
Only with the assistance of Admiral Ackbar and his fellowMon Calamari were theRebels able to raise theFalcon and evade the Imperial forces led byCommanderOrlok. In doing so, the Rebels lured Orlok'sground-skimmers across the mud lake, trapping him and hisstormtroopers in the coils of the giant mud-worms that had previously held theFalcon, and thus make their escape. Solo later noted in theFalcon's owner's guide that emptying theFalcon of water and mud after leaving Daluuj took several hours, despite theCorellian Engineering Corporation's claims about theYT-1300's water resistance.[5]
TheRebel Alliance suffered a defeat here sometime prior to theBattle of Hoth.[6]
Legacy era[]
After theYuuzhan Vong War, manyYuuzhan Vong relocated to Daluuj, taking advantage of its breathable atmosphere. TheEmpire ofDarth Krayt maintained only a small presence on the planet.[2]
In137 ABY, it was the location of theambush on Daluuj where a conclave of four of the last remainingJedi, includingWolf Sazen,Shado Vao, andAhn Rasi Tuum, was held before being attacked by theSith. At this location, hundreds of impaleddroid heads stood on sticks as for a ritual. Cade Skywalker wouldreturn to Daluuj during his hunt forVul Isen along with his master Wolf Sazen and his crew.
Inhabitants[]
Daluuj had a sparse population of Humans, who comprised 88% of the population, and various other species that lived in villages and small cities. Yuuzhan Vong, who comprised 6% of the population, usually lived in isolation away from other settlements.[2]
