Clone Captain Rex used two DC-17s and continued to long after the Clone Wars.
Of theRepublicclone troopers who used theblaster during theClone Wars, high-rankingcommanders,captains,[5] andARC troopers were all users.[13] During the conflict, ARC troopers, as well as otherspecial forces units likeClone Force 99 within theSpecial Operations Brigade, used the DC-17 for close-quarters fighting and as a backup weapon.[3]
Clone CaptainRex, a notableclone trooper officer[14] who served in the elite501st Legion,[15] preferred to use two DC-17s at once.[1] After the Clone Wars, clone stormtroopers such asCaptainsHowzer[7] andWilco[16] continued to make use of the blaster. In the years leading up to theGalactic Civil War, theTwi'lek rebelsNuma andGobi Glie also used these blasters.[17]LieutenantDicer of thePhoenix Cell also used this model when she was attacked bykrykna,spider-like creatures native to the planetAtollon.[18]
