Galactic Civil War[]

Following theDeclaration of a New Order, there were a number of anti-Imperial protests across the planet.[15] A resistance movement later appeared on the planet.[16] During theGalactic Civil War, theAlliance to Restore the Republic established asecret base on Commenor's largest moon, Folor.[17] Shortly before theBattle of Yavin,Rebelpilots ofRed Squadron undertook amission to recoverastromech droids fromsmugglerNera Dantels. The mission was a success, but pilotCesi Eirriss was killed.[4]

By4 ABY, the planet had become an Imperialfortress world. Commenor and nearbyFoundry were abandoned by Imperial forces in6 ABY, whenNew Republic forces moved to the Colonies from theKashyyyk system.[3] Nevertheless, Commenor remained formally under Imperial control. After theLiberation of Coruscant,GeneralBel Iblis designed anoperation to conquer Commenor. However, the plan was never put into motion since the people of Commenor ousted the Imperialgovernor a short time later.[12]

The planet remained independent from the New Republic, but still maintained trade relations with it, as well as with the Empire and the independentwarlords.[18] By this time, the New Republic still used the Folor Base, especially during theCore Campaign.[19] The moon served as a New Republic stronghold during theHunt for Zsinj and theThrawn campaign.[3]

By9 ABY, the Commenorian bioengineering corporationXenovet had become a secret Imperialcybernetics plant. The facility wasattacked by New Republic forces soon after theThrawn campaign. There,Rogue Squadron freed former prisoners of theStar DreadnoughtLusankya and discovered thatDirector of Imperial IntelligenceYsanne Isard had survived theBacta War.[5]

In40 ABY, Commenor became allied withCorellia in theSecond Galactic Civil War after the original plan to retake Commenor from the Empire was revised and leaked by an unknown party as aplan by theGalactic Federation of Free Alliances to invade and conquer Commenor. By that time, Fyor Rodan was itsPrime Minister.Matric Klauskin served it as anadmiral. It sent a fleet to repulse theBlockade of Corellia.[12] Later, at the height of the war, Commenor contributed a fleet of Star Destroyers equipped withnew turbolaser technology to theConfederation war effort.

It later came underattack. During the attack, the Galactic Alliance Third Fleet launched an asteroid at the planet, and the Commenorians were unable to keep it from colliding with theirhomeworld.[21]
