Admiral Griff and DarthVader are both rushing toattack the Rebels as they escapepast a dangerous stellar flare-emitting star. Griff's fleet arrivessecond - directly on top of Vader'scruiser, destroying Griff's ship andallowing the Rebels to escape to Hoth. In apensive moment, reflecting on the Rebels'escape, Vader reveals in his thoughts that he isactually Luke's father. The Millennium Falcon,with Han, Luke, Artoo, Threepio, and Chewieaboard, heads for the nearest planet, a seemingtropical paradise, to repair the navigational computer.Luke soon discovers a woman that appears to be TanithShire being attacked by a strange octopus-like plantcreature. Luke eventually "rescues" the woman, butdiscovers that she's really an illusion-caster named S'ybll,living alone on the planet. There are signs that Imperial troopswere attacked by a sizable force and defeated here, but S'ybllinsists she's frightened of the potential intruders, and needssomeone like Luke to stay and protect her.
