Brentaal IV, also referred to simply asBrentaal, was a terrestrialplanet located in thethe galaxy'sCore Worlds, on both theHydian Way and thePerlemian Trade Route.
Description[]
Aplanet[2] in theCore Worlds region ofthe galaxy,[1] Brentaal IV was located at the confluence of theHydian Way and thePerlemian Trade Route, positioned at the coordinates L-9[5] on theStandard Galactic Grid.[11]
Brentaal IV had a rocky surface and anatmosphere that was breathable tohumans. At least onemoon could be seen in its sky.[4] The planet shared its name with theBrentaali.[12]
History[]
ThepirateQ'anah andherfather were natives of Brentaal IV, and Q'anah'sfather servedHouse Cormond as abodyguard until he was given a lucrative offer byHouse Elegin of the planetAsmeru to work for them instead.[1]
The planet was the site of theRepublic Futures Program training facility, whereGalen Erso met and befriendedOrson Krennic[14][6] in36 BBY.[15]

TheNuxaninformantBodo Linx had a contact,[10]Qensog,[4] on Brentaal IV, who he believed could help reconnect the fragmentedRebel Alliance after theBattle of Mako-Ta givingLeia Organa the contact's details.[10] The rebels later met with Qensog, and he gave them the locations of bothAdmiralAckbar'sHome One andHera Syndulla'sGeist.[4]
Brentaal IV was a key foothold for theNew Republic during the final days of theGalactic Civil War. It and other planets in the Bormea sector were defended by the New Republic'sVanguard Squadron.[2]

Brentaal IV was thehomeworld ofPlatt Okeefe,[7] a famoussmuggler, freedom fighter, and entrepreneur.[16]

Brentaal IV was first mentioned incanon in the novelTarkin, written byJames Luceno and released in2014.[1] It made its first appearance in thecomicStar Wars (2015) 61, written byKieron Gillen, illustrated byAndrea Broccardo, and published onFebruary 6,2019.[17]
Its first mention was in theStar Wars Legends continuity, in the "Galaxywide NewsNets" segment ofStar Wars Adventure Journal 3, published in1994.[18]
