- "Do you like this place, Ben?…"
"It's…interesting, Snoke."
"I am very fond of it. The people who built it were trying to hold back the dark. That was the entire point. To create an oasis of light here in the great shadow. You see how well it worked. You see what denying the nature of things brought them." - ―Snoke and Ben Solo[8]
TheAmaxine Space Station, also known as theAmaxine Station, was an ancientspace station inthe galaxy that orbited adyingstar in astar system. Built by theAmaxine warriors to facilitate their campaigns, the station was abandoned after it was infested by a dangeroussentientplantspecies, theDrengir, which were in tune with thedark side of the Force. TheSith latersealed the Drengir there.

The Amaxine Space Station[9] was an ancientspace station inthe galaxy[2] that consisted of a central sphere encircled by a number of rings.[1] It was located in astar system where it orbited adyingstar.[2] The station had severalhyperspace relays that would travel through hyperspace to a predetermined location.[10]
Role[]
The station was built by theAmaxine warriors to facilitate their campaigns.[2]
History[]
Ancient history[]
The Amaxine warriors who built the station abandoned it after it was infested by theDrengir, a dangeroussentientplantspecies that were inherently in tune with thedark side of the Force. The Drengir were latersealed at the station by theSith.[2]
High Republic Era[]

During theHigh Republic Era, multiplestarships, includingone carryingJedi MastersCohmac Vitus andOrla Jareni,Jedi KnightDez Rydan, andPadawanReath Silas, were stranded at the station in the aftermath of theGreat Hyperspace Disaster. During their mission, Rydan was injured and was unintentionally transported through one of the hyperspace relays, leading his companions to believe him to be dead. Upon finding the Sith statues, the Jedi took them back to theJedi Temple onCoruscant, unknowingly awakening the Drengir.[2]
Returning to the station and putting the plants back to sleep, the Jedi were forced to again awaken the Drengir when theNihil marauders, who hoped to use the station for their bloodily raids, arrived. In the end, Silas destroyed the station's hyperspace pods after rescuing Rydan, also sucking the Drengir and most of the Nihil aboard out into space.[2] However, theGreat Progenitor survived. Additionally, disturbing her rest had awoken Drengir across the Outer Rim,[11] beginning acrisis that would last until theassault on Mulita.[12]
Imperial Era[]
Between3 ABY and4 ABY,[13] duringLadyQi'ra'sattempt to destroy the Sith as theleader of the criminal syndicateCrimson Dawn, her associate "The Archivist" moved theFermata Cage to the station to allow it to feed with its dark side energy. The Archivist's suspicions were correct and the Cage began consuming the Drengir plants, building up the energy necessary to open. Its power notifiedGalactic EmperorDarth Sidious[7] and hisSith apprenticeDarth Vader, who both followed thedisturbance in the Force[14] to the station on board theExecutor[7] with a force ofImperial Star Destroyers backing them.[15]

The two Sith had been led to believe anancient Sith Lord was trapped in the Cage, but Qi'ra hoped to draw them in to lock them away.[14] Qi'ra'sDawn Fleet arrived on the system andengaged theStar Dreadnought to buy the Archivist the time she needed, while the Dawn'sstarfighters defended against the ImperialTIEs. Nevertheless, the Emperor and Darth Vader landed to the station on board the Emperor'sLambda-class T-4a shuttle accompanied byroyal guards anddeath troopers and engaged the Dawn's troops.[7]
TheSpark Eternal, which was in possession of the body of thearchaeologistDoctorChelli Lona Aphra, arrived at the station and was greeted by Qi'ra.[16] Vader and Sidious made their way deeper into the station and were greeted by the Spark, which Vader quickly handled andForce pushed out of Aphra.[14] Having made their way through the battle,Sana Starros' crew then saved Aphra from the Spark when it attempted to possess her again.[15] When the two Sith encountered the open Fermata Cage, Qi'ra and the Archivist, both overlooking the incident from their own ships, activated the final stage of their plan to lock the two Sith inside. However, theKnights of Ren arrived in the system and fired on the station, collapsing the Cage in the name of proving themselves to the Sith.[14]
The wave sent out by the collapse devastated the Dawn fleet, which the Empire targeted the remnants of while Qi'ra gave a retreat order. The Knights then boarded the station to meet the Sith, with Sidious torturing them withForce lightning but promising they would serve him. The Spark, meanwhile, took refugee in a disc left behind by the Fermata Cage,[14] where it would stowaway in aKX-series security droid helping Imperial personnel clean up the station at Palpatine's request.[5]
New Republic Era[]

The station was home to many exotic plants.
With Sidious having learned of the station's existence,[7] it would later become the homebase ofSnoke, theSupreme Leader of theFirst Order[1] and a pawn of Sidious,[17] during thetime of theNew Republic. As Snoke resided in the space station,Ben Solo, who haddestroyed theJedi Temple of Luke Skywalker after believing he had killedLuke Skywalker, visited the station to meet with Snoke.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Amaxine Space Station first appeared in the 2019 comic book issueThe Rise of Kylo Ren 1, part of the comic book miniseriesStar Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren, which was written byCharles Soule and illustrated byWill Sliney.[1] According to Soule, the space station was originally created for that comic, rather than being created during the planning for the multimedia projectStar Wars: The High Republic. Soule said it wasClaudia Gray's idea to use it[18] in her2021 novelThe High Republic: Into the Dark, which first identified it as the Amaxine station.[2]
