Alexsandr Kallus' squad
|
- "I remember my first unit. The boys and I were deployed to Onderon to bring peace and security to a troubled world. We were on a routine patrol and ran into one of your rebel friends, a Lasat mercenary who worked for Saw Gerrera. I was lucky, knocked out by the first blast. I came to, but found I couldn't move. And then I saw him, the Lasat, calmly walk through smoke and fire to finish my unit off, one by one. The injured never had a chance. Always wondered why he let me live."
- ―Alexsandr Kallus, to Garazeb Orrelios[2]
TheImperial Security BureauagentAlexsandr Kallus commanded[2] asquad ofstormtroopers[1] that wasdeployed to theworldOnderon[2] around18 BBY.[3] The mission was Kallus' first assignment following his graduation.[1] During a routine patrol, thesquad wasattacked[2] by arebel group led by the Onderon revolutionarySaw Gerrera.[4] Kallus was rendered unconscious by the first blast, and after regaining consciousness, found himself paralyzed, unable to move as he witnessed aLasat warrior calmly walking through the destruction, methodicallykilling the rest of hismen. Despite this, theLasat spared the agent's life.[2] Kallus harbored a hatred for Lasat due to the event.[4] He later recounted the demise of hissquad to his long-timerebel adversary, the LasatGarazeb Orrelios, when the two were stranded on theicymoonBahryn[2] in3 BBY.[3]
Behind the scenes[]

Dawn of Rebellion erroneously dated the squad's mission on Onderon to 7 BBY.
The squad was first mentioned in "The Honorable Ones,"[2] the seventeenth episode in thesecond season of the animated television seriesStar Wars Rebels, which premiered onFebruary 24,2016.[5]
The reference bookStar Wars: Timelines, published onApril 25,2023,[6] states that Kallus lost his squad around 18BBY,[3] which is contradicted byStar Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide, published onDecember 5, 2023,[7] which instead dated the mission to7 BBY[4] within a section written byPablo Hidalgo.[8] However, the2019 reference bookUltimate Star Wars, New Edition,[9] as well as the2024 reference bookStar Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy, both establish the mission to Onderon was his first since his graduation.[1] Given that thecomic story "Flight of the Falcon, Part 1: Spy Games," written byMichael Moreci and published byIDW Publishing[10] onSeptember 26,2018,[11] depicts Kallus on a mission[10] dated byTimelines to around10 BBY,[12] Kallus' first mission must be prior to around thatyear. Therefore, this article assumes thatStar Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide is incorrect and thatStar Wars: Timelines is correct.
