92 BBY
Dates in other dating systems
92 BBY, or92[4] Before the Battle of Yavin, was ayear in the'ABY-BBY' dating system[5] that fell within theera in which theGalactic Republic governedthe galaxy.[6]
Behind the scenes[]
In the currentStar Warscanon, 92 BBY was first mentioned in thefirst issue ofStar Wars Jedi Master Magazine,[4] published byTitan Magazines onNovember 16,2015.[7] BothJedi Master Magazine 1[4] and2017's[8]Star Wars Super Graphic: A Visual Guide to a Galaxy Far, Far Away establish 92 BBY as thebirth year of theJedi MasterQui-Gon Jinn.[9] However, the2019 novelMaster & Apprentice byClaudia Gray,[10] which is placed in40 BBY per the2023 reference bookStar Wars: Timelines,[6] sets the age of Qui-Gon during the novel's events as forty years old.[10] This article assumes that, as older sources,Jedi Master Magazine 1 andStar Wars Super Graphic are in error.
Theyear92 BBY originated in theStar Wars Legends continuity, where it was first indirectly mentioned in "Shintel Downtime," an adventure written byPaul Sudlow and published in the1995West End Games'Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game supplementThe DarkStryder Campaign, which mentions events that took place "about a century" before the adventure's setting[11] in8 ABY.[12]Vader: The Ultimate Guide,[13] a souvenir magazine released inJuly2005,[14] was the first source to mention the year explicitly.[13]
