Peshk Vri'syk was amaleBothanpilot who served inRogue Squadron, theNew Republic's elitestarfighter unit, in6 ABY.Born onBothawui, Vri'syk was trained inflight combat at theBothan Martial Academy. His performance earned him an appointment to Rogue Squadron when the unit was reconstituted in 6 ABY byCommanderWedge Antilles. Vri'syk's assignment was alsopolitically motivated; the Bothans wanted a member of theirspecies represented in the New Republic's flagshipsquadron because theirspies haduncovered the location of thesecond Death Star, which Rogue Squadron subsequently assisted indestroying. The New Republic assented to the request.
Although inexperienced, Vri'syk was an excellent pilot, and his training scores—along with the rest of the squadron's new recruits—were better than those of many front-line combat units. Vri'syk sawaction atChorax, and served in theeffort to extract New Republic assets from the planetHensara III. Hesurvived a covertstormtrooper attack against the Rogue Squadron base on the planetTalasea, and participated in aretaliatory strike againstAdmiralDevlia, theImperial officer who had ordered the assault. Vri'syk waskilled during theFirst Battle of Borleias when a heavyion cannon blast destroyed hisX-wing starfighter.
