From seasons4-8 and after returning in season 12, he is one of the main animation directors along with Yasumi andAlan Smart, later joined byMichelle Bryan in mid-season 12. As ofseason 13's "Karen for Spot," he was teamed withDave Cunningham.

Recent credits for Andrew Overtoom includeThe Patrick Star Show andSpongeBob SquarePants as well asThe SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, where he served as CG-animation director and Head of Character Animation (HOCA). He was a supervising animation director on theCartoon Network seriesClarence as well as theDisney animated television seriesBilly Dilley's Super-Duper Subterranean Summer where he was a writer and animation supervisor. In1999, after two years as an animation timer onThe Angry Beavers, Overtoom was hired as an animation director on theNickelodeon animated television seriesSpongeBob SquarePants, for which he was nominated at theEmmy Awards in2004,2007, and2011. Other credits includeFamily Guy andAmerican Dad! for theFox Broadcasting Company andDave the Barbarian andPhineas and Ferb for Disney.
