Zappy Longshocking is a multiplayerstage inSplatoon 2. It was the tenth variation ofShifty Station, and first appeared in theNew Life-Forms vs. Advanced Technology andPulp vs. No PulpSplatfests. It returned in theChaos vs. Order Splatfest. As of version5.0.0, it is exclusively available inPrivate Battles. Its main gimmick isInk Switches that can be used to move walls and platforms.

Layout

Zappy Longshocking is laterally-symmetrical likeSaltspray Rig. It contains many ramps and long narrow corridors. The spawn points are located near each other but separated with a tall glass wall that extends all the way to the center (however, splats against the junction where this wall meets the floor may cause a small amount to leech to the other side). From spawn, it is downhill that leads to the center where threeInk Switches are placed. The center one rises an uninkable wall in the middle while the two others lift climbable platforms on each side respectively. The platforms, when raised, allow full access to that side's respective home base.

Team Alpha (Pearl's team) always spawns on the right side, while Team Bravo (Marina's team) always spawns on the left. However, when the same team is fighting each other in Splatfest, the rule above does not affect spawn positions, so there is a possibility to spawn on either side.

Trivia

  • This is the second laterally symmetrical stage in the series. The first wasSaltspray Rig, and it was followed bySkipper Pavilion andBridge to Tentaswitchia.
    • This also makes it the firstShifty Station variant to feature lateral symmetry.
  • This stage and Bridge to Tentaswitchia both featureInk Switches as their primary gimmick. They are also the only two Shifty Stations to have lateral symmetry.
  • The file name for this stage is "Deli09" and the codename is "Denden". "Denden Switch" is the Japanese name for Ink Switches.
    • The file name implies it was finished beforeThe Bunker Games, despite appearing later.
