Non-Manga reader here. Does the black label even have enough appearances/plot relevance to warrant a page being made? Some other wikis I'm on (namely Pikipedia) have "Did you know?" sections (as well as some others) on their main pages. While these sections add more life to the main page, they're also a nice way to increase community engagement, and therefore increase wiki views overall. So, I was thinking, why don't we add one? Even if this idea is accepted, I don't have a ton of ideas for what could go there, but to start, maybe we could mention how six (five if you don't count Surge & Submerge, as it's a version of another song) different songs throughout the series are two/three (depending on if you count the and) words long, start with S, and have "and" or "&" in the centre (Seep & Destroy, Smoke and Mirrors, Soak & Stomp, Split & Splat, and Surprise and Shine), or look on trivia pages for more interesting facts. A did you know? section would have a slightly better chance of coming to fruition than a featured article section as it's more lighthearted and in tune with the kind of observations the broader Splatoon community already makes. Oddball trivia about the series' world and characters tend to be get a lot of attention on social media (stuff like illustration details, idol dialogue, stage props etc.). It'd still need to be classified as a project requiring regular upkeep/maintenance: if enough people show dedicated, serious interest towards helping with such a project rather than just suggesting the concept, it shall be considered (same with the featured section suggestion). The goal is to not go through the process of figuring out a new set of vanity wiki tasks that everyone wants to see the results of but no-one wants to actually do.

A featured section is difficult as it serves to highlight certain articles as outright better as others, which 1) sorting out the good articles from the bad ones shouldn't be a goal in this way: we strive to bring all articles to equal levels of great quality, eventually 2) doesn't fit how our wiki is currently structured with 500+ repetitive gear/weapons/etc. pages. A did you know section would have more room to breathe than a featured section as it would be less of a means to highlight specific articles as "better quality", more of a section to embrace the series' goofiness and attention to detail.

Even under a more lighthearted pretense though, a did you know section would still exist primarily to direct readers to certain articles... Pointing out lesser-known facts is best when there's accompanying meaningful writeup or other documentation for people to further engage with a given trivia fact, rather than just repeating pre-existing trivia points. A lot of trivia on this wiki doesn't really have room for elaboration. Though maybe the goal here would just be collecting great trivia for the sake of it rather than intentionally directing to specific articles.

In the past couple years we've been discussing how a lot of our current trivia sections trail on too long with content that's better suited for non-trivia sections; we have arelated notice. There's been quite a few cases where the observations listed as trivia points are indeed true and cannot be slotted into other sections, but are a bit too granular as details, pushing the boundaries of what qualifies as interesting. One such removed trivia point that comes to mind isthis one. Similarly, I don't think the initial example point that so far six song titles contain that specific format makes for great trivia. It's factual and can't really be categorized as anything but trivia information, but it isn't particularly enriching for lack of better term. It feels more like weighing details in a spreadsheet or by checklist looking into obscure statistics... which could be enriching to some, but broadly isn't something I'm inclined to sign off on.

Off the top of my head I can definitely think of trivia I'd consider "main page-worthy" but I'm not fully sold on it being necessary and/or worth the effort. you make a lot of good points, and I feel like the first step would be to compile along, long, list of trivia worth added so we would have a backup, which I'm not really sure would be worth the effort, and similar to the featured article again, might take up a lot editors time, as you would likely need multiple opinions to make sure the trivia is viable and interesting. Alls said I say it wouldn't be worth it.
