TheSnipewriter 5H is amain weapon inSplatoon 3, created by the weapon brandNouveau. It is acharger with the unique property of, when fully charged, loading five low-damage rounds that it can fire consecutively.

It was revealed in theChill Season 2022 trailer on14 November 2022 and was released on1 December 2022.

Appearance

The Snipewriter 5H combines elements of an eraser pencil held in a blue plastic drawing compass with a rifle. A window cut into the side of the barrel facing the user shows its internals are shaped like the cartridges of a stacking-point pencil. Towards the front of the barrel, there is a plastic mounting superficially resembling amuzzle brake, as well as a clear plastic cover over the tip of the pencil, with a hole in the cover acting as the weapon's muzzle. The slightly-projecting metal screw holding this mounting in place can be seen as completing a pair ofiron sights when taken in tandem with the metal rear sight towards the grip of the weapon.

There is also a rack above the grip that shows the ink rounds to be loaded into the barrel; as charged shots are fired, these rounds can beseen individually disappearing.

Description

When is held, five charges of hardened ink are stored, which can be released in rapid succession by releasing and re-pressing for each charge. Each shot's power is low and leaves it unable tosplat with a single fully charged shot; it also lacks piercing ability. Its range is comparable to that of theSplatterscope, meaning it shares its spot with the Splatterscope as the third highest range of any charger in the game, just behind theE-liter 4K andE-liter 4K Scope.

It charges at about the same speed as theSplat Charger, and it fires thin trails of ink, similar to theBamboozler. It also does not have a charge hold, and any remaining rounds held when changing toswim form are lost (but the player will regain the equivalent amount of ink).

Splatoon 3

The Snipewriter 5H has theSprinkler andTacticooler for its set. It was added as part ofChill Season 2022 on1 December 2022.

Quotes

Sheldon's Introduction

If you use chargers but wish they were a little more...prolific...enter theSnipewriter 5H! It's a charger-style weapon that can fire shots in quick succession. Hold down to charge, and then release to fire. Then you can press to fire again and again—up to five shots on a single charge! Now, there's always a catch, and here's the catch on this weapon—each shot is a bit less powerful than some other chargers, and you can't store a charge. But when you have theSprinkler to help with coverage and aTacticooler to power up your friends, those may be catches you can live with.

SRL Ballistics again! We're done with Real Estate drama and here to talk about theSnipewriter 5H, a newcharger that holds up to five shots. Its projectiles look like pencil lead but splat likeink—and the high-capacity mag can help YOU write the ending you want for your battle!

Five Shots at Full Charge
You can't store charges with this one—sorry—but what you CAN do is pop off up to five consecutive rounds on a full charge. Use the rapid fire to pin opponents down and protect your teammates up front.

5H refers tothe pencil grading of the same name, signifying a very hard graphite, and also is likely short for "5 hits", the maximum number of shots in one full charge.
