TheRetro Framers areheadgear inSplatoon 3.
They are a 2-star item produced byEnperry and come with the primaryabilityOpening Gambit.They must first be unlocked through leveling up theDrizzle Season 2022catalog to level 79, then they can be purchased fromNaut Couture for
9,900. They can only be ordered from another player after being unlocked.
They can also be unlocked through leveling up theDrizzle Season 2023 Catalog to level 90 as part of theLime Battlecrab Shell Outfit.
Appearance
The Retro Framers are a pair of black glasses with jagged rims, giving the illusion that they were pixelated. AnEnperry logo text can be seen on the left temple. Both temples change color to match the user's ink.
Splatoon 3
The Retro Framers was first revealed in the announcement trailer forSplatoon 3 on17 February 2021. Their name was revealed on27 May 2022.[1][2]
Abilities
The Retro Framers come withOpening Gambit as the primaryability when purchased from a shop or ordered fromMurch, which, being exclusive to the main slot ofHeadgear, prevents the wearer from also havingComeback,Last-Ditch Effort, orTenacity. When purchased fromSplatNet 3, they come with any other primary ability normally available to Headgear. As a 2-star item, the Retro Framers come with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased withSuper Sea Snails for 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of them from Naut Couture for 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Sincethey are made by theEnperrygear brand, they have a higher chance of rollingSub Power Up and a lower chance of rollingInk Resistance Up to fill their secondary ability slots.
