Rapid Blaster
TheRapid Blaster is amain weapon in theSplatoon series, manufactured byDeco.
The Rapid Blaster is ashooter inSplatoon andSplatoon 2, and ablaster inSplatoon 3, that is similar to theBlaster, but fires much faster and has greater range. However, this comes at the cost of lessink coverage, a smaller blast radius, and weaker shots. At minimum, it takes one direct hit and one indirect hit to splat an opponent with this weapon. Its close relative, theRapid Blaster Pro, has slightly longer range and a slightly slower fire rate. The fire rate is faster than that of theLuna Blaster, and slower than that of theClash Blaster.
Appearance
The Rapid Blaster consists of a gray main body with red parts on the top and sides, connected to a black handle with a red trigger under and a black barrel with a large cylindrical muzzle at the front.
InSplatoon andSplatoon 2 the muzzle is red, the red parts have a gray polka dot pattern, and three parts on the main body change color to match the user'sink: a large square part with three gray vertical cuts on the rear side, a horizontal section on the side next to the barrel, and a rectangular section on the back. Multiple texts and symbols are also present in white on the sides, with theDeco branding written in yellow on the red part at the bottom front of the weapon.
InSplatoon 3, the design of the Rapid Blaster has been modified and simplified: the muzzle is now yellow, the red parts have been modified and are now plain color, and there is no text anymore on the weapon. The color-changing parts have also been modified: the horizontal section has been removed, the square part on the rear side has been replaced by a red part with three vertical sections that change color to match the user's ink, and the rear part is no longer surrounded by a red one. These color-changing parts light up when a shot is fired with the weapon.

| Sheldon's Introduction TheRapid Blaster is a Blaster modified to increase its rate of fire and ink efficiency. It's not as powerful as the Blaster, but its fast shots and powerfulInk Mines are great for pressuring foes. With aBubbler as well, it's probably the easiest blaster to use, so I'd recommend giving it a try!(NA) |

Quotes
| Sheldon's Introduction TheRapid Blaster lives up to its name with an improved rate of fire and modestink consumption. Now, if you know me at all, you know I'm going to tell you about a big trade-off, and it's this: low power. But using theInk Mine to reveal enemy positions helps make up for it. What I'd do with a combo like this is use the Rapid Blaster to create a whirlwind of ink, then take it to the next level with aTriple Inkstrike. This setup lets you focus in on key areas of the map - whether you're defending the home base or pushing an advance into hostile territory. |

Trivia
- This weapon resembles a toy dart blaster.
- Despite being called theRapid Blaster, the fire rate of this blaster is slower than theClash Blaster's, though the Clash Blaster was introduced later.
- The orange cap on the tip of the Rapid Blaster's barrel inSplatoon 3 resembles those seen on toy dart blasters in the United States, which requires toy firearms to be painted partially or completely insafety orange to avoid confusion with real guns. This cap is also seen on theRapid Blaster Pro.
- Prior toversion 3.0.0 ofSplatoon 3, the colored parts on the 2D icons for the Rapid Blaster and the Rapid Blaster Pro were colored yellow. This was corrected to the white color upon release of the update.
- In the Italian localization ofSplatoon 2,Sheldon's introduction about the Rapid Blaster says that it comes withPoint Sensor instead ofInk Mine.
- InSplatoon 3, parts of the weapon that match the user's ink color light up when fired.
- For some reason, these light-up parts of the Rapid Blaster variant, theRapid Blaster Deco, do not light up when fired. This issue is shared with theRapid Blaster Pro Deco.
