Octostamp DXs are machines created by theOctarians that appear inSplatoon 2's single-playermodes,Octo Canyon and theOcto Expansion.
Description
Despite being named afterOctostamps, Octostamp DXs more closely resemble theOctostomp. They are much smaller than the Octostomp but much larger than Octostamps. They use tank treads to move, and their faces are made of cubes, giving the machines a pixelated look. However, their faces are fully articulated, as they can express emotions, such as being confused when a player is hiding. They are some of the least common enemies in the game, only appearing in a few levels. They are also adorned with various graffiti and stickers. SomeSanitized Octostamp DXs have additional faces connected to them which lack the glowing eyes and yellow faces that the main face, which controls all of the machine's movement, has.
Octostamp DXs behave similarly to Octostamps, but they move much more slowly and slam down onto the ground without jumping. When they fall, they leave behind an imprint ofink shaped like their face on the ground (if the surface it fell on is inkable), and they instantly break the player'sarmor orsplat them upon collision. They may also accidentally crush otherOctarians or objects likecrates andBumpers, destroying them instantly. Octostamp DXs are indestructible, but their sides can be inked and climbed, with them occasionally having an object on them such as akey or alaunchpad that they must be climbed to reach. Octostamp DXs will notice if the player inks their sides while they are upright and try to stop them, but not if they are inked while their face is on the ground.
