Ya gotta submerge the Octoballs inink to scuttle 'em!

Octoballs areOctarian enemies appearing inOcto Valley who possess the ability to spreadink while rolling on smoothsurfaces.

Description

Octoballs are small, roundOctarians with one large eye and a pair of purple lips. Because of their body shape, they are able to roll on smooth surfaces while leaving behind a thick trail of purpleink. When shot withInkling ink, they are pushed backwards, but not harmed. However, if submerged in a puddle ofAgent 3's ink, they will struggle to move and can besplatted.

Tactics

  • Octoballs can be easily defeated by surrounding them withAgent 3's ink, at which point the player can splat them. A good strategy could be inking a large spot and luring the Octoballers in, making them sink, allowing Agent 3 to easily defeat them.

Splatoon

Splatoon 2

Octoballs are the only non-boss enemies from Octo Valley that do not return inSplatoon 2's single-playermodeOcto Canyon. Despite not appearing in Octo Canyon, concept art of a bowling alley stage that features them prominently can be seen inThe Art of Splatoon 2,[1] a role taken up byOctoballers in the final game.
However, the Octoballs are not entirely absent from the game. One piece of gear - theOctobowler Shirt - has an image of an Octoball on its back.

Octo Expansion

Sanitized Octoballs make a brief appearance in theOcto Expansion. Despite never appearing as enemies in the game, they can be seen trapped in storage units during theBelly Phase as well as inside the liquid lasers of theNILS Statue. When the NILS Statue is destroyed, these Octoballs can be seen flying out of it.

In themanga series
