TheNow or Never Seven is an idolsupergroup made up of theSquid Sisters,Off the Hook, andDeep Cut. The group performs live during thePast vs. Present vs. FutureSplatfest inSplatoon 3.
History
Prior to the supergroup's formation, theSquid Sisters collaborated withBig Man ofDeep Cut, who worked in secret under the alias "Ian BGM", on the songLiquid Sunshine; this led toShiver andFrye retaliating against Big Man for "betraying"Splatsville in the songBig Betrayal. Later, Shiver and Frye participated in a singing battle againstOff the Hook in the songSuffer No Fools.
TheSizzle Season 2024 trailer ends with a short clip of ajellyfish holding merchandise for all three idol groups in an area resembling thetutorial area, possibly hinting at the collaboration.
DuringInterview: The Great Big Three-Group Summit!, the three groups expressed mutual interest in a larger collaboration that included all three groups. The name "Now or Never Seven" was decided on based on how all three of the involved groups perform a version of the songNow or Never!.
Before the final name was decided on byPearl, several other names were suggested:
- "Seafood Squad" byFrye
- "Tricolor All-Stars" byCallie
- "Sparkling ☆ Seven Sea Stars" byMarina
- "The Now or Nevers" byMarie
- "Extra-Large Seafood Squadron Now or Never Seven" by Frye, whichShiver suggested to shorten to just "Now or Never Seven"
