New You is asong performed byDJ Real Sole.
Description
New You bears a resemblance toLookin' Fresh and replaces the aforementioned song as the shopkeepers' themes in theGalleria. There are four different versions which loop in the shops, and unlikeLookin' Fresh, there is probably no "original version", as the track cycles through the different versions.
- AsShella Fresh focuses on items on the lower part of the body such as shoes, its version focuses on the "lower" parts of the song, with an emphasis on percussion and bass. It is somewhat faded, composed almost entirely on the electric guitar, corresponding withBisk's laid-back personality. Notably, this is also a reference to his interest in music, as an electric guitar sits on a stand in the back of his shop.
- AsYe Olde Cloth Shoppe focuses ongear worn on the middle of the body such as clothing, its version emphasizes the melody or "middle" of the song. It features synthesized sounds and is rendered louder than the other versions, reflectingJelfonzo's charismatic and energetic personality.
- AsHeadspace focuses on gear worn on the head, its version reflects a contemplative or mindful tone as well as higher vocals, linking it to the head. It is simpler and more soothing, matchingFlow's calm yet spacey personality. It also has sounds of a ukulele and maracas, referencing her characterization as a hippie.
- TheAmmo Knights version is near-identical in theming to Ammo Knights' rendition ofLookin' Fresh, as it is heavily inspired bySheldon's military obsession. It uses orchestra hits and features a rigid tempo meant to match the pace of marching soldiers. At the end of the song, a trumpet solo is played to replicate a Reveille (a military "wake-up call").
It can also be heard inSquid Beatz 2 and is one of the default songs unlocked from the start, with a maximum score of 143 and 326 in Normal and Hard modes, respectively.
Other versions
New You (Hotlantis)
Another version ofNew You is heard inHotlantis inInkopolis Square inSplatoon 3. When accessing the track in-game, a high-pass filter is added over the audio file to reflect how the player is accessing the shop through a terminal. Samples of synthetic tones and vocal clips fromDripping with Style, the shop theme inSplatsville, are used in this version; they are reminiscent ofChirpy Chips songs, possibly referencing the shop's clerk,Harmony, being a member of said band.
