Appearance
The Moby Knit is a multi-colored knitted sweater inspired by the 80s hippie culture, most notably the psychedelic design. The knit itself, along with its cuffs, is black, covered with metallic stripes of various thickness and design, placed in an asymmetric manner. The most characteristic element is a pair of whales, with the left being metallic brown and the right pure white, visible in the middle, blowing water from their blowholes. Thin black seams precede the collar and hem.

The Moby Knit comes withInk Recovery Up as the primaryability when purchased from a shop or ordered fromMurch. When purchased fromSplatNet 3, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 2-star item, the Moby Knit comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased withSuper Sea Snails for 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Sinceit is made by theKrak-Ongear brand, it has a higher chance of rollingSwim Speed Up and a lower chance of rollingSub Resistance Up to fill its secondary ability slots.

Etymology
The English name of the shirt is a reference to the novelMoby Dick, which centers around a sea captain hunting down a white sperm whale that had attacked him in the past.
