Mask is a character in theSplatoon manga and a member of theS4. He is the leader ofTeam Cyan.

Description

Mask is a character in theSplatoon manga, and is the third member of theS4. He has the "Topknot" hairstyle, and wears theGas Mask,Purple Camo LS, andGreen Rain Boots. He wields theCarbon Roller Deco as his main weapon. He often has his eyes half-lidded and slouches.

Personality

Mask is often stubborn and loathes when people are overly happy, getting particularly agitated atGoggles andBobble Hat during their battle due to their carefree, happy-go-lucky mindset. He also often brags about how he can beat weak teams without swinging his roller. Although he seems to get along well with his teammates, he dislikes working with others, especially the rest of theS4. He often seems to be the straight man, as seen in his interactions with the other S4 and Goggles,Gloves, andEmperor during the Salmon Run arc. As shown especially in Chapter 51, Mask values order in his life and prefers to be playing matches without interruption and chaos. At other times however, he seems to be mischievous when it comes to sneaking and tricking others in battles. Mask tends to keep to himself outside of this.

Trivia

• According to the Inkling Almanac, he has hay fever but is fine with his gas mask.
• He really likes video games and wows otherInklings with his skill at Squid Beatz.
• He is the onlyS4 member to be in Volume 6's Salmon Run Arc.
• His team's special attack is called"Sub Weapon Armageddon", and it consists of his team using their sub weapons to splat the opposing teams.
• Mask tends to slur his consonants/vowels. This is likely due to the fact he has hayfever, or is the effect of the gasmask. However, this character trait is not included in the official VIZ localization of the manga.
• He says "Hyuk" because it is a localized term from the VIZ translation meant to be an exaggerated laugh. It would be better described as a "stereotypical otaku laugh" in the JP version.
• He was on Team Order for thefinal Splatfest.
