Inkopolis Tower inSplatoon

Inkopolis Tower is a large tower inInkopolis Plaza where players can access thelobby and play in online matches inSplatoon andSplatoon 3: Expansion Pass.

Description

Inkopolis Tower is a large, green tower inInkopolis Plaza based on the real-lifeTokyo Tower. Located next toBooyah Base and behind whereJudd stays, Inkopolis Tower is the largest and most well-known landmark in the plaza. It takes on a large, curvedA shape with four legs leading into a wide base, which narrows as the height increases. It is supported by a pattern of triangular beams, and is decorated with a large icon that is used in both theSquidForce logo and theRegular Battle symbol. Resting on top of the tower is a wide, cylindrical observation deck surrounded by satellite dishes of various sizes. Multiplejellyfish can be seen operating controls from inside the deck through a window. Additionally, two large speakers rest in front of the tower, providingmusical ambiance for the plaza.

Within the tower on its lowest floor is thelobby, a cylindrical room whereInklings can access online multiplayermodes such asTurf War andRanked Battle. The lobby is sealed by a sliding door, surrounded by wide screens showing depictions of the currentstages.

Before theOctarians stole theGreat Zapfish, it curled around the tower, providing energy forInkopolis. However, even after it was stolen, Inkopolis is able to retain most of its electricity supply and function normally. OnceAgent 3 rescues the Great Zapfish and it returns to Inkopolis Plaza, it can once again be seen resting on the tower.

Inkopolis Tower appears in promotional artwork forCallie vs. Marie.

InSplatoon 2, Inkopolis Tower is replaced byDeca Tower in terms of its role; however, it can be seen in the distance if the player stands in the corner ofInkopolis Square. Additionally, embroidery depicting the Great Zapfish curled around Inkopolis Tower appears on the back of theZapfish Satin Jacket in all three games in theSplatoon series. Inkopolis Tower also appears in amap shown in aSplatoon 3 developer interview.

InSplatoon 3, Inkopolis Tower returns in Inkopolis Plaza in Wave 1 of theSplatoon 3: Expansion Pass, with the Great Zapfish curled around it constantly. In this game, the interior of the lobby at the base of the tower has been expanded to be identical to the one inSplatsville, though unlike the one in Splatsville, the songsSinkopated andDrip Feed are replaced in the rotation byInkopolis Lobby andInkopolis News, respectively. InSplatfests, Inkopolis Tower changes color to match the third team, with the fox and tanuki statues on either side of it representing the other two teams.

Inkopolis Tower makes a cameo appearance inMario Kart 8 Deluxe in the background ofUrchin Underpass, replacing a generic skyscraper from the original version of the stage.
