suggestion for wiki pages

since i'm a newbie, i checked the wiki pages of some weapons but the data is like crammed together, and how does bullets per frame work? anyways, i would suggest to put a gap between the points like this: old:1.2.3.

new:

1.

2.

3.

also, what is the most rapid fire weapon? TY!Agent 1000 (talk)13:24, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

i meant to do like for the old:

2._

oh, and also, about my questions: how does bullets per frame work and what is the most rapid fire weapon remains unanswered, so please feel free to answer them if you can!Agent 1000 (talk)03:23, 20 August 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If I'm understanding your first question correctly, the “bullets per frame” is how many times a weapon does/can (in the case of semi-auto weapons like Squeezer or things like Sloshers) shoot per second. Since Splatoon 3 runs in 30 frames per second, that means that something that shoots every 10 frames shoots 3 times per second, if it shoots every 45 frames that is every 1 and a half seconds, etc. I'm not sure what the fastest weapon in the game is, but ink brush fires every six frames. I hope this helps!

During battles and other situations where you use your weapons, the game typically runs at 60 FPS though...アオリKaoru (talk)17:38, 21 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's the other way around, the plazas are the area where the game runs at a higher fps. Actual matches run at a lower framerate.Gallium![Talk]he/she/it18:27, 21 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I noticed that a lot of things are measured in 60fps, but I was confused because to my knowledge the battles ran at 30fps.TheYoshiGang (talk)07:35, 22 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'd suggest that you recheck, because - at least on Switch - it runs at a low FPS in the plazas and at a high FPS during matches. If you visually reference other games that run at 30 FPS, you can tell that matches aredefinitely not as slow as them. Try it out by going into Recon and moving your camera around quickly!アオリKaoru (talk)13:50, 22 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

how do you change Inkipedia's appearance

Hey! I really want to experience the April Fools prank where it appeared as if Grizzco Industries brought the website. How can you change it's appearance?Agent 1000 (talk)03:25, 20 August 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

When logged in, click on the top-right User icon, from there go to Preferences > Gadgets > Skins. Uncheck the default skin and check the Grizzco one and hit save. After that you might need to refresh the site a few times for it to work.It's moon [Talk!]06:55, 20 August 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

is it possible to make an update to the wiki's settings to like actually change how the wiki looks back to that event? I think a few years ago Pikipedia did something similar, where they made the wiki look like their in game company purchased the website and when I changed it's appearance, it looked exactly like how it looked during that time. So maybe using the Wayback Machine as a reference, we could update the settings. This year, Pikipedia made it's appearnce to look like a pokemon wiki, and I could change the look since I have an account there.Agent 1000 (talk)07:29, 20 August 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Categorizing Articles in Need of an Overhaul as ‘Stubs'.

As of writing this, there are 236 articles classified as ‘stubs'. Most of these are fitting, however I noticed that a lot of the Hero Mode articles (mainly the Octo Expansion ones) have different sections labelled as incomplete, but since the Hero Mode pages are currently being overhauled, I was wondering if these pages should have their categories changed (perhaps to the ‘under construction' category?) as I don't want someone who is unaware that the pages are being overhauled to put a lot of effort into rewriting the page to fit the previous standards. I might be looking too much into it, but I did want to ask just in case it did turn out to be an issue.

TheYoshiGang (talk)15:18, 29 September 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I did a bit more digging and I noticed there was another category called ‘incomplete', perhaps this category could be put on all the pages that need to be changed, along with a message linking to the page on Hero Mode articles classified overhauls?
TheYoshiGang (talk)07:41, 30 September 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

We aren't doing that much with the homepage.

What do I mean by that?

1. We don't even add new news to the news sectionthe recent Big Run is missing, and the Zombie vs. Skeleton vs. Ghost announcement is missing too.

2.Salmon Run news is stuck on old events. We were stuck on the August 2025 Eggstra Work when the event ended until the September 2025 Big Run, and we still stuck, just on the Big Run. Before, the Salmon Run news was displayed instead on having to go to Splatoon 3 Schedule and scroll to the very bottom of the page.

3. The moderators have to be reminded to change the season Just like the change from Sizzle Season 2025 to Drizzle Season 2025.Agent 1000 (talk)08:54, 30 September 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  1. News updates for the relevant events have been made!
  2. Live schedule info was moved off of the main page after discussion some time ago, as it was causing loading issues for some users. Also, we display previous event info until the next major event is announced, as we have done for a long time.
  3. I'm not sure what you mean about being 'reminded to change the season'; the current displayed season on the main page is Drizzle Season 2025, and has been since the season started on September 1st.

How do you add your splashtag and change your icon?

The title is my question. I would also need help editing my user pageto make it look better. TY as always.Agent 1000 (talk)23:09, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

To add a splash tag to your user page, you'd need to format it like this:
{{Splashtag
|title1=Wiki-Editing
|title2=User
|name=Example
|banner=1
|tagnumber=0000
|badge1=Splattershot 10
|badge2=Mr. Grizz
|badge3=Marie
}}
To change the Splashtag banner, go to thebanners page and find what banner you want. Click its photo, and it'll take you to the image page. Insert the number in the file name next to "banner=".
Your badges are similar. Go to thebadges page, and find what badges you want to add. Click its photo, and copy whatever comes after "S3 Badge". Paste what you copied after any of the "badge=", and you should be good to go!
Hope this helped, and Stay Fresh!NewSquidbeakSplatoon (talk)12:42, 15 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks to you too!Agent 1000 (talk)00:07, 16 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Actually, how do you add a title?Agent 1000 (talk)00:44, 16 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Titles don't have numbers/codes assigned to them like badges and banners do, you simply input the text, meaning you can have custom ones!
To see the list of all the ones in-game, you can go to the page foradjectives (which would be "title1") and the page forsubjects (which would be "title2"). (separated due to size.) It's a long list though, so I'd recommend using your browser's "find" feature if you're looking for the exact name of one. Hi! I tried it, and the font is different to the in - game one. Can you please explain? Thank you!Agent 1000 (talk)02:13, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That I cannot explain. To my knowledge, we don't have the in-game font on our wiki, you'd have to contact the mods if you want it added. Sorry for the disappointment!NewSquidbeakSplatoon (talk)17:47, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The font is different because using the exact one used in-game would probably lead to some legality issues down the line. One able to be used and close enough was picked for the template instead.FancyRat18:03, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New artwork from Squid Girl manga author

Should thisartwork be added toSquid Girl's page? It's made for celebrating the 10 years ofSplatoon so it could be counted as fanart instead of the gear collab lol.Popamolamola (talk)08:06, 9 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I think it would almost certainly count as fanart either way, but given that it's from someone officially involved with the series, I think there could still be an argument for including it.Driftin Soul(Talk!)15:47, 9 October 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

well - because that was yesterday - and due to file uploads not being possible - the schedule as of now is back to normal - but i unfortunately lost it (the screenshot). so i'll describe it -

Certain teams (such as those that have played in the World Championships) are already covered in the competitive namespace, as they meet the wiki's notability guidelines. I have to agree with Heddy's comment on the original post though, youtubers generally don't fit within the scope of the wiki. Difference

Quick Question, what's the difference between a stub and being under construction?🆂Ⓠ🆄Ⓘ🅳Ⓢ🆀Ⓤ🅰Ⓡ🅴Ⓓ🆂Ⓠ🆄Ⓐ🅳 (talk)18:03, 22 November 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

They're definitely similar conceptually and can often overlap. The core difference (in just my own opinion and observations) is:
Template:Stub denotes just the content. Something is a stub if it's too short to give much useful information.
Template:Construction denotes (on a more "meta level") what is being done to a page, i.e. active construction. As such, it's often used to explain stuff like wonky tables or layouting or the like.
So they can and do often overlap. Construction is particularly used when new content is dropping or articles are being overhauled, but most of those are also still Stubs while they're under construction. For example, a lot of Side Order Floors are in both categories.underFlorence (talk |contribs)10:06, 2 December 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Aviators page

I've been trying to update the coroika manga pages, and this includes characters too. However, on the page for Aviators, it says that it has been deleted twice and there is something saying 'COPYVIO Do not restore' (I copied that from the page itself). I don't know what that means, so I've left it for now. Should I just leave the page alone, or can I create the page?Princess Moon (talk)17:08, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If that's the listed deletion reason, then it's likely because most or all of the contents of the previously-made article at that title were plagiarized from another source such as the FANDOM Splatoon Wiki. As long as you are confident you're writing original text in your own words, there shouldn't be any issue.Driftin Soul(Talk!)17:14, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Weapon demonstration videos

Throughout S1 and S2's active live service periods weapon demonstration videos were actively produced and embedded into main weapon pages. These videos are hosted on YouTube, some under the official Inkipedia account. Within the clips, a player in the test range would demonstrate a weapon kit in its entirety, showcasing the range, ink consumption and damage output of the main weapon, sub weapon and special weapon.

We have 2 full sets of S1 and S2 weapon demonstration videos provided byMochah andShahar respectively. No S3 weapon demonstrations have been produced; the project has fallen into inactivity. Kickitoldskool in the Discord server recently offered to record S3 weapon videos, providing a promising test-run video. However, before we give the green light for them to record videos for the 173 kits currently in-game, I wanted to re-assess whether or not weapon demonstration videos are something we want to continue having produced for the wiki, as well as whether or not we should keep the previous weapon demonstration videos. If we do want S3 weapon demonstration videos, I think it would be worthwhile to re-evaluate how such videos should be structured.

Recently with the updatedfile policy and file documentation/categorization cleanup efforts, the ideal formatting of videos hosted directly on Inkipedia has been standardized. At this moment we do not have concrete guidelines on using Inkipedian-produced YouTube videos as supplementary material to the wiki; the typical use-case has been doing so when a video would've been too large or otherwise impractical to host on the wiki itself.

In the time since S1, Inkipedia has expanded and strengthened its documentation of weapon mechanics (ink consumption rate, weight class, fire rate, etc.) based on the games' direct data. The format of our S1 and S2 weapon demo videos focuses mostly on how each weapon feels to wield in-game, as the test ranges do not provide much concrete weapon stat information past damage output. I think our current weapon mechanic metrics documentation as featured on individual weapon pages with precise numbers is clearer than the videos. One option would be to make all-new clips featuring text accompaniment explaining each weapon's stats, comparing each weapon to the respective class baseline, though this would be incredibly demanding; it isn't something I could volunteer for or want to put forward as the best option to pursue.

Instead, an easier to produce alternative would be shorter clips focusing primarily on each weapon's appearance in action from a non-active player's POV. The focus would be on a given weapon's unique mechanics rather than how it feels to play a full kit, with only a clip or two per weapon, similar to how we have just a handful of user-taken photos of each piece of gear. As an example, for theS-BLAST '92 we could have:

  • One clip focusing on the S-BLAST's firing animations,
  • Thenanother clip to showcase its unique range-changing mechanic.
    • (These are videos recorded quickly to use as proof-of-concept, not meant to necessarily replaceone similar S-BLAST clip we already have nor fully thought-out as "complete" versions of a potential replacement project)

Under this system, clips would focus on just one weapon, as in, one main weapon, one sub weapon or one special weapon. This would allow for full coverage of all components that go into a weapon kit that may be reused across kit documentation; information on kit components synergy (i.e. how ink consumption rate pairs with the full loadout, seen in the S1/S2 demo videos) is best relegated to ourweapon strategy pages. This would significantly cut down on the length and scope of videos required for full coverage, making it more viable to host the videos directly on-wiki; this would minimize the need to rely on external video hosting for wiki-produced materials.

I'm very interested in people's opinions on the S1/S2 weapon demonstrations in recent years. Are they still actively sought out and used as information sources? Are people interested in S3 equivalent videos? What structure would they like to see S3 equivalent videos follow?

A lot of work went into the production of the S1/S2 demo videos and I do not mean to discount their contribution to the community. My point is that in the time since their addition to the wiki, the wiki's file organization systems have changed, which makes room for alternative ways to fulfill the purposes the videos originally served.Yoshifan52 (talk)09:03, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I would be tentatively in favor of a more encyclopedic, weapon-focused approach rather than set-focused "demo" approaches as we've historically done. I've done some coverage in the rough vein of the former for certain weapons in the past to illustrate unique aesthetic "moving parts", such as:
I think there's a lot of logistical issues with recording old-style weapon set demos for what practically leads to what I perceive as relatively little reward.Driftin Soul(Talk!)17:21, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply[reply]
