TheDual Squelcher is amain weapon inSplatoon, created byCustom. InSplatoon 2 andSplatoon 3, it was converted intoDualie Squelchers.

It is similar to theJet Squelcher, but has a higher fire rate at the cost of range and power. The fire rate is faster than theSplattershot Pro and slower than theSplash-o-matic.

Appearance

The Dual Squelcher is similar in appearance to theJet Squelcher. However, the Dual Squelcher is red and has a second barrel attached to the bottom. This barrel is nonfunctional in-game.

  • Each shot consumes 1.2% of the ink tank capacity.
    • This allows players to fire 83 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
    • This stat can be changed withInk Saver (Main).
  • When firing continuously, it shoots a bullet every 6 frames (10 shots per second).
  • When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.6 units per frame.
  • After firing, there is a 20 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Each shot has a base damage of 28.
  • Shots travel straight for 6 frames. After that, they may lose damage. A shot will lose damage until it reaches 14 damage at frame 18.
  • Shots have a radius of 2 units.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 4 degrees.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 12 degrees.
  • The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. The outer reticle will finish shrinking after 60 frames.

Compared to the Jet Squelcher, theDual Squelcher has a little less range, but makes up for it with a slightly faster fire rate. The Dual Squelcher comes with Splat Bombs and Echolocator. This is really nice for supporting your teammates and giving them cover fire. Selecting theInk Saver (Sub) ability overInk Saver (Main) is best due to the amount of ink the Splat Bomb needs. Another ability to strive for isBomb Range Up, so you can throw those Splat Bombs at a greater distance, eschewing the need to get close to your opponents.

Trivia

  • Not counting the transition fromE-liter 3K toE-liter 4K, the Dual Squelcher is the only main weapon to not return inSplatoon 2. Instead, it was mechanically changed and converted into theDualie Squelchers.
  • The Dual Squelcher only fires through the top barrel. The bottom barrel is simply cosmetic.
  • There is an unused model and weapon parameters for the Dual Squelcher inSplatoon 2, but it was replaced by the Dualie Squelchers.
  • TheSplattershot Nova, a new main weapon inSplatoon 3, is statistically similar to the Dual Squelcher. Both weapons have long range and a faster firing rate than theSplattershot Pro, but weaker damage. They also share the code name of "QuickLong".
