Description
d3molish is the final and most intense version ofdemol1sh,demoli2h, and d3molish which are all heard during the Destroy the Portals! objectives in Side Order. d3molish plays from 21F - 29F. Compared to demol1sh and demoli2h, this track is far more extreme and much more intense. The song has a heavier, more distorted synth and a rhythm that is more frantic, urgent, and aggressive.
The song begins with with a bass synth playing the melody. At 0:14, the synth builds up to a drop at 0:18. At this point, the song is comprised of only the bass synth and percussion. A couple of times, a vibraphone plays an upwards arpeggio, with its calm tone creating a sharp contrast with the intensity of the synth and percussion. At 0:41, the rhythms become increasingly erratic and the pitch of the piece slowly builds until 0:45. The song then loses all coherence for a couple of seconds, but comes back together at 0:48. The bass synth and percussion continue until 0:52, where the synth is interuppted by several dissonant, stabbing piano chords. The piano chords are then cut off by a brief percussion break before the song loops back to the beginning.
Etymology
The named3molish is formed by replacing the letter "e" in "demolish" with the number "3". "To demolish" means to completely destroy something intentionally, reflecting the objective of the floor which is to destroy all the portals. The naming scheme of replacing one letter of a word with the number 1, 2, or 3 is present in allfloor songs forSide Order and derives fromleetspeak.
