Mechanics in theSplatoon series are features or items present in the game. Mechanics appear primarily in the single-player campaigns:Octo Valley,Octo Canyon, theOcto Expansion, andReturn of the Mammalians.

• InSplatoon, the only multiplayer stage which features a mechanic isAncho-V Games, which haspropeller platforms.
• InSplatoon 2, almost all stages haveInkrails and/orsponges in some of the modes, and the Splatfest-only stageShifty Station has variable layouts, each featuring a different mechanic or two.
• InSplatoon 3, most stages feature Inkrails and/or sponges in some of the modes.
