Baker

Baker is one of C-Side's vocalists, as well as its bassist.[3] He owns a social media account on a platform similar to Twitter, to which he has posted drunk. He went to school withIchiya, and according to him,Now or Never! was originally written by C-Side. He frequently speaks out against Inkopolitan music, particularlySquid Squad, though he enjoys theBottom Feeders and has expressed interest in collaborating with Finn Feeder.[4] While he was a student, he was part of a sports club, but could not cut it as a regular member and got invested in music instead. After graduating, he worked at a small company doing maintenance forTower Control, but could not abandon his love for music, and eventually started a band. While watching two teams fighting inTurf War, he concluded that he was on a different level from either side, and named his band after the concept of a "C-Side Squid".[5]

Kiki

Main article:Kiki

Kiki is one of C-Side's vocalists, as well as its guitarist. They are often late to the studio, and once quit the band before being welcomed back later.[4] They are the child of the director of a large company, and in their early childhood, they frequently snuck into their father's audio room and heard the marvel of music. While in school, they formed a band called "Ornamental Fish", but it was disbanded during their freshman year. During a live performance, they slipped out the back entrance during their part and met Baker for the first time. They are prone to wanderlust, once leaving C-Side for a time to perform in a metal band.[5]

They are additionally a member ofRiot Act.

Walter

Walter is C-Side's drummer. They have a high-pitched raspy voice, contrasting with their tough appearance. They know how to play the guitar.[6] They were first known to Kiki as the janitor at their high school. They are slightly older than the other two, and are fond of the pure kind of death metal. They have a dark sense of humor, frequently telling these jokes to Kiki. Kiki, however, is unfazed, and so these jokes rarely ever see the time of day.[5]

Quotes

No band reps harder for the Splatlands than this trio. Despite having no formal musical education, they rose to the surface through raw sensibility and ambition alone. As rowdy as they might look, they deliver a tight, heavy sound that's pumping with vitality.
Splatoon Base[7]
These three don't doubt for a second that they're the greatest band alive. They don't ask permission to cover other artists' tracks, and they claim their versions are better. In the case of Squid Squad's Now or Never!, they even claim to be the originators.

Etymology

C-Side refers to two sides of phonograph records and cassette tapes (A-side and B-side). The front side of the second record in a two-record set is sometimes designated the C-side. The name is also phonetically similar to "seaside". In addition, "c" is the third letter in the Latin alphabet, three being a number that is often referenced inSplatoon 3.

Baker's name could be in reference to a baked rice snack that shares the same name as his Japanese name, Beika.
