During thePast vs. Present vs. FutureSplatfest inSplatoon 3, a special Grand Festival variation ofBattle Defeat by theSquid Sisters could be played as the battle defeat theme. It was heard by players on the losing team in a match between two teams on Team Past. The intro jingle is replaced by a shorter one that lasts only 2 seconds. The main section is sped up slightly and features more extensive percussion and an additional synth lead. At the 12-second mark, the percussion plays on its own for 2 seconds, after which the song features the melody fromLiquid Sunshine.
