Appearance
The Backward Cap is a flat-brimmed cap worn backwards. It has a dark gray brim, a tiny version of the Zekko logo on the front (the back, if worn in the default style), and Zekko's name in large, black and whiteInkling letters on the other side. The main part of the hat changes color to match that of the wearer'sink. InSplatoon 3, the cap can be rotated to face forwards using the 'Adjust Gear' feature.
Despite looking strikingly similar to theCoroCoro Cap from the front, the Backward Cap is worn differently: it is almost completely straight, while the CoroCoro Cap is angled, with the Zekko logo over the wearer's left eye. The lettering seems to mimick the word/emblemZekko rather thanCoroCoro.

As a 1-star item, the Backward Cap comes with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with aSuper Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. The star level may be increased withSuper Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Naut Couture for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level to 1 or 2 stars will add a secondary ability slot per level, up to a maximum of three slots. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Sinceit is made by theZekkogear brand, it has a higher chance of rollingSpecial Saver and a lower chance of rollingSpecial Charge Up to fill its secondary ability slots.
