NASA has selectedSpaceX to provide launch services for theDragonfly mission, a rotorcraft lander mission under NASA’s New Frontiers Program, designed to exploreSaturn’s moonTitan. The mission will sample materials and determine surface composition in different geologic settings, advancing our search for the building blocks of life.

This week theFAA announced new fines againstSpaceX for violating its launch license duringFalcon 9 andFalcon Heavy launches back in2023. However, the company states that the FAA was a part of the decision-making for moving forward with one of the violations, and allowed it to continue with its launch.

NASA announced in a short statement that the Europa Clipper mission will be able to move past its transistor issue and move on towards launch. The mission will have its next major development milestone next Monday before finally saying “yes” to launch.

It’s been six months into 2024 (literally how?) so it’s time to check in on how wellSpaceX is doing in getting to its 148 launch goal. So far SpaceX has had one of its best years yet, but is it enough to reach that hefty goal? We’ll see.

SpaceX launched its first Falcon Heavy of 2024 Tuesday afternoon on a spectacular clear day for all to see. On top was NOAA’s final GOES-R series of weather satellites, GOES-U (here’s an explainer on the names).

What do you get when you take three Falcon 9 boosters and strap them together? Well, aFalcon Heavy of course. The second most powerful operational rocket (surpassed only by NASA’s Space Launch System), SpaceX doesn’t get to launch it often, but when they do, everyone wants to see it. The next Falcon Heavy launch is scheduled for no earlier than June 25, 2024, from LC-39A at Kennedy Space Center.[LAUNCHED]

Six months into the year and SpaceX haslaunched 62 rockets, two Starships and the rest Falcon 9s. So far, the company has yet to launch its biggest operational rocket, the Falcon Heavy. In one week that will change with the launch of NASA/NOAA’s GOES-U spacecraft on June 25.

Going into 2024SpaceX was aiming to launch 144Falcon 9 andFalcon Heavy launches before the year is up, however, that number has now increased up to 148. The company’s VP of Falcon launch confirmed this at Everyday Astronaut’sAstroAwards.

Last yearSpaceX shared that it wanted to launch as many as 144 Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets in 2024. This week, the man in charge in making that a reality shared the milestones it needs to hit to meat that goal.

Last nightSpaceX rounded out the year with a double header, launching a classified mission on theFalcon Heavy for the USAir Force andSpace Force and then about three hours later, 23Starlink satellites. This completed another record breaking year with98 total rocket launches from the company and many other milestones.

SpaceX is aiming tolaunch 100 rockets this year, another big increase from what the company did in2022. That will mean they will have to launch on average every three to four days. Will SpaceX be able to pull it off? Keep track below of all of SpaceX’s 2023 launches.

SpaceX launched a batch of its “Gen 2 mini”Starlink satellites from Florida last night, breaking a week long drought of launches from the company. While usually Starlink missions aren’t something to talk about, the long lull means the company will likely miss its 100 launch goal.

What was suppose to be a week full ofSpaceX launches has turned into well, not much. Between weather and lengthly technical delays, SpaceX’s chances ofa 100 launch year might have just slipped their grasps.

SpaceX plans to launch about 50 rockets fromVandenberg Space Force Base in 2024 with a chance of 100 launches in the year 2025. This comes to a spaceport that has historically seem launches in the single digits. Now, it could soon see a launch for SpaceX’sFalcon Heavy rocket in the next few years.

After dodging some harsh weather, NASA’s Psyche spacecraft lifted off from the historic LC-39A launch pad at 10:19 A.M. ET on SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket. After being delayed a year, the spacecraft is finally on its way to an asteroid, of the same name, to do some good old science.

SpaceX is leading the show this week with three rocket launches from Florida’s Space Coast. The one on all of our eyes is of course NASA’s Psyche mission flying on SpaceX Falcon Heavy, a show stopping rocket and science mission all in one week!

With today marking the first Monday of October it also marks the start of the first week of the final quarter of 2023. Seriously where has the year gone?

So now is the time to catch up with SpaceX’s 100 launch goal for the year and see if they are anywhere close from hitting it or if they even have the chance.

SpaceX made a last-minute decision to scrub and reset the launch ofHughes Network Systems’ Jupiter 3 mission just a minute before liftoff. The rescheduled launch is now set for tonight.
