Ages Undreamed Of is a rules light Sword and Sorcery game that boils things down to the bear essentials. There are only three stats, which are rolled under to resolve conflicts:
- Barbarian, which allows you to be a classic heavy weapon swinging, craggy cliff climbing, brooding barbarian hero alla Conan or Fafhrd
- Civilized, which allows you to be a gentlemen thief or swaggering bravo alla The Gray Mouser
- Eldritch, which lets you be a dark magician or cursed wanderer alla Elric
There is no buying or bean counting, with all progression done through a random chart which is modified by how much treasure you gain and waste after your adventures. In the brutal age you find yourself in no one makes prudent fiscal investments. The total rules are only 5 pages, including a form fill able character sheet. Included in the rules is a free form magic system which allows anyone to make up spells on the fly, at a price. If you like classic Pulp Fantasy stories I'm sure you'll like this ultra simple game that doesn't let anything get in the way of the action and adventure.
