Turkey and Yam Pepper soup Recipe – Video
Hey everyone, been a minute!
So, I have decoded to start recording recipe videos alongside the regular blog recipes. Figured it’s time to get with the trend, about time right? My Youtube channel is live as well. You can subscribe to my channel @sisi Jemimah or Sisi Jemimah’s recipes in the mean time. Took me an awful lot to get to this point given my total fear of DSLR cameras. I just could never get the hang of recording videos or photography on manual mode until now, thanks to the lovely @lovemrskush (who by the way, you need to check out on Instagram), her blog page ishttps://www.lovemrskush.com/
I won’t bore you with the details but let’s just say, she helped me conquer my photography fears, see what I did there? 😀
So, back to today’s recipe. I had actually edited a a recipe for Turkey and Yam Pepper Soup with photos but was too busy to put the recipe up. Today, I made Turkey and Yam Pepper Soup again and thought, yeah, why not just do a video instead, so here we go!
You’ll notice the pictorial recipe is a tad different from the video recipe. Well, same ingredients just a slightly different method but same results guaranteed.
Ingredients:
8- 10 Turkey Pieces
Chopped Yam
Pepper Soup Spice (I used 3 tbsp)
Crayfish powder (optional)
2 tbsp black Pepper
Scotch Bonnet Peppers
1 Onion
Grated Ginger
2 Knorr chicken seasoning
Water 1.5 litres
Salt to taste
Method:
Wash the turkey pieces thoroughly, then transfer into a pot, add salt, knorr chicken, grated ginger, chopped onions.

Mix thoroughly, then steam on low heat for 5 minutes…

Now, add the chopped yam, enough water to cover, then cook for 15 minutes. They yam i used here was old yam and very though, hence the decision to cook along with the turkey from the start.

After 15 minutes, add the scotch bonnet, ground pepper, crayfish, black pepper. Taste for seasoning, adjust if necessary. Mix, then cook till both yam and turkey are soft.

Then add the scent leaves/basil leaves, simmer for 2 minutes..

All done!
So, will you be trying this easy Turkey and Yam Pepper soup recipe? If so, do let me know how you get on.
