Zachary Ruben Benson (born May 12, 2005) is aCanadian professionalice hockeyleft winger. He currently plays for theBuffalo Sabres of theNational Hockey League (NHL).
Before playing in the NHL, Benson played parts of 3 seasons with theWinnipeg Ice of theWestern Hockey League (WHL).
He was drafted 13th overall by theBuffalo Sabres in the2023 NHL Entry Draft.[1] On July 28, 2023, Benson signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Sabres.[2] On October 12, Benson made his NHL debut in a 5-1 loss against theNew York Rangers.[3] On October 14, Benson recorded his first points in the NHL, assisting on goals byJordan Greenway andCasey Mittelstadt in a 3-2 loss against theNew York Islanders.[4] On November 22, Benson scored a between-the-legs goal for his first NHL goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to theWashington Capitals.[5]
