Yeongam is a county inSouth Jeolla Province ofSouth Korea. It bordersMokpo andNaju to the north,Jangheung County to the east, andHaenam andGangjin to the south. Yeongam contains two towns, calledeups, and nine townships, calledmyeons. The populated is about 60,000 people, and the county hall is seated inYeongam-eup.

In 2010, the first everKorean Grand Prix was held next to the harbor, at theKorean International Circuit. The track was designed byHermann Tilke. The circuit is part permanent, part temporary. Construction began in 2007, and was completed in September/October 2010. The circuit will host the Grand Prix until 2016.[1] After that, a 5-year option would have to be picked up to keep the race until at least 2021.
