Cameron Jibril Thomaz (born September 8, 1987 inMinot, North Dakota ), known by his stage name,Wiz Khalifa , is an American rapper, singer and actor. His stage name comes from Khalifa, anArabic word meaning "successor", andwisdom , which was shortened to Wiz when Khalifa was a young boy.[ 1]
He released his first album,Show and Prove Warner Bros. Records in 2007. HisEurodance -influencedsingle "Say Yeah " receivedurban radio airplay and entered theRhythmic Top 40 andHot Rap Tracks charts in 2008.[ 2]
In November 2009, Khalifa released his second album,Deal or No Deal Kush and Orange Juice Atlantic Records .[ 3]
He is also well known for his first single for Atlantic, "Black and Yellow ". The single peaked at number one on theBillboard Hot 100Rolling Papers [ 4] O.N.I.F.C. Work Hard, Play Hard " and "Remember You ".
Khalifa released his fourth albumBlacc Hollywood We Dem Boyz ". In March 2015, he released the song "See You Again " for the soundtrack of the movieFurious 7 Billboard Hot 100[ 5]
