Windows Neptune is a version ofMicrosoft Windows that was being made during 1999 and January 2000.Windows 2000 was released as an operating system forbusinesses and people that know how to use computers well. Windows Neptune was going to be a version of Windows 2000 that was easier for home users to use. Nobody knows ifMicrosoft was ever going to release Windows Neptune[source?]. AfterMicrosoft stopped developing it, some of its features were merged with Windows 2000's and a new project, "Whistler", was formed. "Whistler" was later released asWindows XP.
Only one known confirmed version of Windows Neptune exists. which is Windows Neptune Build 5111.1. Windows Neptune Build 5111.1 exists on theInternet as anISO image. It used to be hard to find, but now it can easily be found.
