William McChord Hurt (March 20, 1950 – March 13, 2022) was anAmericanactor. He won anAcademy Award in 1985 for his work in the movie movieKiss of the Spider Woman. He playedThaddeus Ross in theMarvel Cinematic Universe.

In May 2018, Hurt was diagnosed withterminalprostate cancer.[1] He later died from the disease on March 13, 2022 at his home inPortland, Oregon, only one week before his 72nd birthday.[2][3]
