Wesley Sneijder (born 9 June 1984) is aDutch retiredfootball player. He played for clubs such asReal Madrid,Ajax,Inter Milan, andGalatasaray. He also played for theNetherlands national team, and he has been called one of the best midfielders of all time.[4] He played in the2010 FIFA World Cup Final, and was one of the top scorers ofthat tournament.

Sneijder became aRoman Catholic in 2010.[5]

Sneijder has two sons and two brothers:Jeffrey andRodney. His paternal grandmother wasGreek and was born inKavala.[6]
