Virga falling from a nimbostratus cloud.

Inmeteorology,virga isprecipitation that falls from a cloud butevaporates orsublimes before reaching the ground.[1] It is seen a lot indeserts andtemperate climates. These areas have lowhumidity and hightemperatures which cause the rain to evaporate before reaching the ground. In North America, it is seen a lot in theWestern United States and the Canadian Prairies. It is also seen a lot in theMiddle East andNorth Africa.
