Indian sweets garnished with vark

Vark is a super finefiligreefoil sheet of pure metals. It is usually made ofsilver but sometimesgold.[1] It is used to decorateSouth Asiansweets andfood. It is also placed onsaffroned rice to make it look more appetising.[2][3][4] The silver and gold are edible andflavorless. Varak is made by pounding silver into sheets a fewmicrometres (μm) thick.[5] It breaks easily into smaller pieces if touched. Vark sheets are laid or rolled over some South Asian sweets, confectionery, dryfruits andspices.[6][2]
