Vaasa (Swedish:Vasa) is acity inOstrobothnia,Finland. The city has a population of 60 622 (31.8.2012) and the area 191,68 km². Vaasa is different compared to the nearest municipalities because so many people there speakFinnish. FromHelsinki, it is 419 km to Vaasa.

Neighbouring municipalities areIsokyrö,Laihia,Malax,Korsholm andVöyri.
